Building Envelope Engineer-In-Training

WADE is looking for a Building Envelope Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our growing team in Edmonton. Key Responsibilities
Perform and assist project engineers in field activities such as site reviews and building envelope condition assessments.
Perform construction contract administration tasks on active construction projects such as review of shop drawings, preparation of change orders, and review of contractors submittals.
Perform field performance testing (water penetration, air leakage, thermography, etc.)
Prepare engineering documents, schedules, or reports, as assigned.
Prepare project specifications and/or documents as assigned.
Prepare and assist with the preparation of engineering documents, schedules, or reports
Prepare and assist with plans, drawings, contracts, and technical specifications
Perform and assist with project document reviews (drawings, specifications, shop drawings, submittals, etc.)
Prepare and assist with proposals and business development activities
Co-ordinate and provide drawing/CAD support to staff designers on an as-needed basis.
Work under close supervision, with work that is regularly reviewed for accuracy, adequacy, and conformance with guidelines and procedures.
Accountable for the technical quality and accuracy of work performed.
Education and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience in Building Envelope Rehabilitation projects.
Comfortable working on active construction sites.
Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Must be willing to work on swing stages.
Aptitude for working with existing facilities.
Experience with drafting, heat transfer modeling, including AutoCAD, REVIT, THERM, and EXCEL, is an asset.
Experience in concrete structure restoration, parkade restoration, and high to mid-rise balcony rehabilitation projects are assets.
Experience in steel and wood-framed construction is an asset.
